Quesadilla Recipe
Components :
- 8 flour tortillas 8-10 inches
- 2 cups shredded cheese cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a Mexican blend
- 1 cup cooked protein optional: shredded chicken, ground beef, or black beans
- 1/2 cup vegetables optional: diced bell peppers, onions, or corn
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro optional, chopped
- 1 tsp olive oil or butter per quesadilla
Optional Toppings :
- Salsa
- Sour cream
- Guacamole
- Jalapeños
- Hot sauce
Instructions :
1. Prep Ingredients :
Grate cheese and chop any additional fillings you want to include protein, vegetables, or herbs.
2. Assemble the Quesadilla :
- Lay one tortilla flat on a plate or cutting board.
- Sprinkle a layer of cheese evenly over the tortilla about 1/4 cup.
- Add your chosen protein and vegetables on top of the cheese.
- Sprinkle another layer of cheese over the fillings and cover with a second tortilla.
3. Cook the Quesadilla :
- Heat a large skillet or non-stick pan over medium heat. Add a bit of olive oil or butter to the pan.
- Carefully place the quesadilla into the pan.
- Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, pressing lightly with a spatula, until the bottom is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt.
- Flip the quesadilla carefully and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
4. Serve :
- Transfer the quesadilla to a cutting board and let it cool slightly.
